The roots of my style stem from my deep appreciation of the outdoors
that were planted as I grew up in Southern Utah near many of God's natural
wonders. I look forward to autumn when I can harvest the colors and
shapes of things that Mother Nature gives to us. Leaves, seeds, pods
and trees are a favorite of mine. I love taking something that is ending
its life cycle and putting it in one of my paintings. I give it a new
life, so to speak. Or rather, extend its old one. I displaced that natural
object to finish it's cycle in one of my paintings where it will continue
to decompose and disintegrate until one day my painting won't even look
the way it started. Someone looking at it will see the painting under
the painting.
Professionally, I
have over ten years experience in many forms of the art realm including
computer graphic arts, photography, and all mediums of painting. I taught
classes in many different art forms during my stay in Europe from 1991-1996.
I also taught web design and various art classes in the San Francisco
area from 1996-1998. I'm known by my photography clients as being willing
and able to go to any lengths to create the perfect shot; be it statically
artistic in B&W, moving in color, painfully sentimental or catching
people unguarded when I think they are at their best. I will always
create, because that's who I am. As my life cycle ends, I bet that inside
my head, somewhere, I'd be making beautiful and strange dreams to live
in.
