Raul Guerrero
Exhibition: Objects, Installations, Photographs, Kinetic Work; 1974

Title:
Spiral; 1972, Carbon paper, sand, hand blown glass flask, 12" x 12" x 8", Installation View San Francisco Art Institute, 1977.

In Guerrero's first solo exhibition the most prominent piece was the upside down pyramidal frame, suspended from the ceiling and covered with coral-tinted nylon sheets. Such works mark the beginning of Guerrero's attempt to confront the orgins of art-making. The source of the pyramid, for example can be found in the Golden Triangle.
