Cohn's art
has its' foundations in abstract expressionism.
She grew up
in Los Angeles, experiencing the external world of a large city and all
its images. This early exposure to visual stimuli has and continues to
inspire and influence her work.
She uses this rich background to interpret in her own unique way her life
and the relationship with the natural world. Her blending of colors, bold
and intense and the addition of texture make each work spontaneous and
unrestrained, allowing the viewer to respond and connect visually.
Before moving to San Diego Cristina Navarrete Cohn lived in Central Calif.
She Received her B.S. from USC, studied art at Bakersfield State College,
Bakersfield Junior College and Long Beach State. She has traveled to Santa
Fe, New Mexico for advanced studies in printing. She has had numerous
exhibitions at various galleries, and her work is in numerous Collections
in US and aboard.
