Tim "timbo" Caton is a native Californian born in 1954 and spent the
majority of his first 30 years in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas.
He has lived and worked in San Diego since 1984. "I am a painter who paints
paintings. I love the art of children and the mentally challenged. I love to
hear the viewer say-I could paint that or my kid could paint that! To me,
the viewer is making a connection with my work, something I greatly
appreciate."
Tim currently makes a living as a graphic artist at Point Loma Nazarene
University, freelance illustrator and painter. Tim has studied exclusively
for the past four years with Reed Cardwell at the Athenaeum School of
the Arts in La Jolla. "My works are a study in line, color, shape and
texture, painting as the object and emotion as the subject. I am inspired
by the abstract expressionist, bay area figurative and the modern jazz-hip
hop movements. My work is about me and my life. They are visual representation
of my beliefs, faith, dreams and opinions."
